Framed by the Sea: Photographic Workshop – Firestone Bay
April 24 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Meet Open Kamera on the shore – a series of coastal workshops exploring alternative photography processes, seaweed and our dialogue with the sea.
Through the Blue Sparks Programme, supported by Plymouth Sound National Marine Park and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, this series of workshops bring together analogue photography, alternative darkroom method, and coastal exploration. Together, we will enter into a dialogue with the sea – not as observers but as participants.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During this session, we will:
walk along the coastline and observe the landscape
collect drifted seaweed and natural materials
explore analogue and cameraless photography techniques
experiment with alternative, more sustainable darkroom approaches
visit and experience our portable darkroom on location
reflect on our relationship with the sea – as a place of arrivals and departures, collect and share stories
You will have the opportunity to step inside our portable darkroom, experiencing the magic of analogue photography directly by the shoreline – where the process becomes part of the landscape itself.
(This is not a technical workshop – it is a shared experinece – grounded in curiosity, presence, and process.)
