Submergence is an interactive light and sound installation that surrounds you with thousands of points of light, creating a mesmerising and dreamlike environment. As you walk through the space, you’ll feel as if you’re submerged in a virtual ocean of gently shifting patterns, colours, and sounds.
This large-scale, walk-through experience blends art and technology to create five unique scenes, each with its own atmosphere. The immersive journey builds in energy, ending in a powerful and unforgettable finale.
Created by internationally renowned art collective Squidsoup, Submergence has appeared at over 70 exhibitions and festivals around the world—from Oslo and Tokyo to New York and Sydney. In the South West of England, Squidsoup has showcased their installations at events like the Beyond Submergence exhibition in Bristol (2023), Heligan Night Garden (2024), and Dazzle (2025).
