Coastal Clean Up – Ernesettle Creek
August 14 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
This event is a collaborative event between Plymouth Sound National Marine Park and Friends of Ernesettle Creek and Budshead Woods.
Ernesettle is a crucial part of Plymouth’s history, culture and future, and are right on the shores of the UK’s first National Marine Park. These iconic heritage sites aren’t just a spot on the map; they’re a living testament to Plymouth’s rich culture. But, like any gem, it needs a bit of polishing now and then. That’s where you come in!
Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or just dipping your toes into community action, there’s a spot for you. Come make waves with us and leave your mark on Plymouth’s coastal legacy. Ready to dive in? Sign up here to secure your spot and let’s make the foreshore shine brighter than ever before!
Coastal Clean Ups! As many of you know, we have started our Thornback Ray breeding programme, and we need to collect more baseline data on the current state of populations of Rays in different areas of the sound. For this day, we will be looking out for eggs whilst collecting litter at the same time.
This coastal clean up will be along Ernesettle Creek and the surrounding areas.
This is suitable for people who have moderate mobility as there are places to sit, but there is a lot of uneven ground. There are no toilets nearby to Ernesettle Creek (the nearest public toilet is a 6-minute drive).
We will have tea, coffee and biscuits afterwards 🙂
You will need appropriate clothing and footwear for weather
Meeting point: Ernesettle Creek car park (What3Words: ///myself.risk.dock)
