Firestone Bay Historic Walk ‘n Talk

April 10 @ 1:00 pm 3:30 pm

Firestone Bay Plymouth
Firestone Bay Plymouth

Royal William Yard is steeped in history, stories and amazing architecture. It’s an important heritage site, with the largest collection of Grade I listed military buildings in Europe. Its surrounding water, Firestone Bay is a crucial part of Plymouth’s history, culture and future, and is right on the shores of the UK’s first National Marine Park. These iconic heritage sites aren’t just a spot on the map; they’re a living testament to Plymouth’s rich culture.

Come and join our local hobby historian Ernie and the PSNMP Coastal Rangers to walk, listen and learn about the history of this iconic spot, followed by some tea, coffee and biscuits!

You will need appropriate clothing and footwear (we recommend walking boots or wellies) for weather. There are available public toilets close by. This event is suitable for all mobility levels including those that use wheelchairs. The approximate distance that will be covered is 1.5 miles at a slow pace, taking regular pauses to discuss the history.
