The Armchair Adventure Festival returns to Mount Edgcumbe in Cornwall
The Armchair Adventure Festival is back for 2022, bringing a celebration of adventure to Cornwall.
The world’s leading adventurers will gather at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park for a full weekend of adventure! The event will feature inspiring tales of adventure and exploration, adventurous activities to get involved in, brilliant live music and top-quality local beer and food.
The festival is a celebration of adventure travel in an idyllic Cornish location. Last year, festival attendees paddle boarded with dolphins in Plymouth Sound, listened to tales of adventure from world record holders like Jamie Ramsay (Who ran the Americas!) and danced the night away to amazing local bands including Plymouth’s own Land of the Giants.
Reece Gilkes, one of the founders of the festival, said, “We’re so excited to be coming back to Cornwall. There’s no better feeling than chilling to some live music with a pint of Armchair Ale, while watching the sunset of the Tamar, having had a full-on day of adventure!”
Festival highlights include:
Speakers:
This year the festival returns with a whole new crop of adventurous folk and amazing bands. Already announced is triple around the world yachtsman Conrad Humphreys, the UK military’s chief survival instructor John Hudson, one of the first women to motorcycle around the world Elspeth Beard and many, many more.
Activities:
Festival goers will again have the opportunity to step out of their armchairs and enjoy a whole host of other activities. There’s opportunity to take out a kayak or paddleboard and explore the 7km’s of pristine coastline which surrounds the festival. Alternatively, if you’d rather stay on dry land, you can make use of the miles of mountain bike trails, join in with the family-friendly foraging, firefighting and shelter-building survival workshops or even walk with the resident alpacas around the incredible Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.
Music:
Plus, the music lineup includes The Andy Quick Band (Glastonbury, Bestival), The Cabarets (Boomtown Fair and featured by BBC Introducing) and Martin Harley, who was voted the 17th best guitarist ever by Guitar magazine!
As well as all this, expect award-winning food and drink, luxury clamping options, a sea view from your tent and with just a five-minute potter through the grounds to the beach, there really is no better location for an adventure festival.
