A Tompot Blenny (name: Parablennius gattorugine) having a lay-in at James Eagan Layne wreck. It is definitely feeling those weekend vibes 😴
Tompot Blennys have the nickname of 'the fish with antlers' due to its fussy tentacles on its head. They are medium sized, sharp toothed and territorial of their home. But if you find one diving, don't worry! They will usually show gentle curiosity around humans.
As always, give all wildlife their own space. Look but don't touch 😊

Plymouth Sound National Marine Park isn't just about animals that live under the sea, but above too.
Here's a beautiful photo of a Cormorant (latin name: Phalacrocorax carbo) relaxing in the golden hour light. As you can guess, they are a huge lover of fish and once they come up from diving, you may see it stood in the sun with its wings open to dry off.

We are working with Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest to empower ages 16 - 28 with a FREE 6-month conservation training programme called 'Forest Rising'. Sign up for hands-on experience, designing and actioning planting projects offered by various outdoor and indoor workshops🌳💚
One of the big advantages of tree-planting projects is that it strengthens the earth, reducing run-off into our national marine park during rainy seasons. Aid us in helping the land so we can help our sea 🐟
