Ernesettle Creek Winter Bird Walk
18th February 2023 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Join the NMP Coastal Ranger Team for a FREE gentle 3km walk along the banks of Ernesettle Creek (Tamerton Lake). This is a beautiful spot just on the edge of Plymouth and a haven for wildlife. Throughout the walk we will be looking for various birdlife that call the creek home, but particular for some of the wading birds that are more commonly seen in winter. Sightings may include: Curlew, Dunlin, Redshank, Greenshank, Little Egret, as well as various wildfowl and woodland birds. It will also be a great opportunity to talk to the ranger team about the development of the National Marine Park and what opportunities are available to the area.
Equipment to bring: Warm clothing, Waterproof Jacket, suitable footwear (the path could be wet and muddy), a drink, a snack, binoculars (if you have them).
Location: Meet by the Ernesettle Creek Mill Pond Causeway, PL5 2QL.
