NMP Community Science – Big Seaweed Search at West Hoe Beach
24th March 2023 @ 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Community Science / Citizen Science!
This term means to collect data on the natural world for scientists, these projects are fun and very accessible with little to no prior knowledge needed (RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch is an example). For this event we will run a fun training session where we will teach you the basics of the big seaweed search, along with history, uses and importance of seaweed. At the same time we will be recording data and looking out for invasive species (a non-native species which causes harm to the local environment). You don’t have to have been to any citizen science events before to get involved. Anyone is welcome to come and learn!
We will meet at the top of the steps next to Maritimo restaurant (look for a national marine park flag). What 3 words ///shower.hooks.shiny
