Coastal Clean-Up – Blagdon Meadow

16 Apr 2025

1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

About

Join the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park Ranger team to do your bit for our sea front with a relaxed and social litter-pick.

During our coastal clean we'll be undertaking a simple litter survey; recording what we find and sending off the data to Marine Conservation Society's Citizen Science project: BeachWatch. This litter data helps inform campaigns and lobby government, and has led to influential changes like the UK-wide carrier bag charge, microbead bans and changes to wet wipe packaging.

Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or just dipping your toes into community action, there's a spot for you. Come and help make the foreshore a healthy place to live for all creatures whether human or marine and learn about some of the biggest threats facing the marine environment from pollution and plastic. We will provide tea, coffee and biscuits after!

You will need appropriate clothing and footwear (we recommend walking boots or wellies) for weather.

Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or just dipping your toes into community action, there's a spot for you. Come make waves with us and leave your mark on Plymouth's coastal legacy.

Please note: this event is subject to a 24 hour cancellation period in bad weather conditions.
