About

Be part of this exciting marine conservation initiative at the stunning Plymouth coastline. The Big Rock Pool Challenge is a fun, competitive rock-pooling event where participants race against time to discover and identify local marine species. As part of our community-driven project, you’ll help gather valuable data supporting UK marine biodiversity conservation.

What to Expect:

    • Bioblitz Battle: Work in teams to discover and identify as many species as possible within a set timeframe. No experience is needed—we’ll provide guidance, equipment, and expert help.
    • Educational Sessions: You will learn to identify species, understand their ecology, and gain insights into marine surveys
    • Fun for All Ages: Perfect for families, wildlife enthusiasts, and anyone looking to enjoy a day by the sea while contributing to vital conservation work.

Whether you’re a seasoned rock pooler or a first-timer, this event is for everyone!
