Bitesize: Poetry and Blue Humanities

Come to Plymouth University for a short lunch-and-learn talk by Mandy Bloomfield, addressing shorelines as meeting-places. The shore is the buffer between land and sea, rich with history, life and moments. The shore carries stories and teachings from the past, present and future.
This talk explores how we can listen to the our seas and learn from it’s changes with the use of literature and visual art.
Mandy Bloomfield, an Associate Professor in Modern and Contemporary Literature at University of Plymouth, has published numerous essays on contemporary poetry and ecology and is currently working on a book on modern poetry and the sea in an era of environmental crisis.
