Firestone Bay Rockpooling: Celebrating Shark Month!
July 27 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Join us in celebrating Shark Month @ Royal William Yard, supporting and learning about the vital work of the Shark Trust while enjoying a month-long extravaganza of shark and ray activities and advocacy. Find out more here: Shark Month
Plymouth Sound National Marine Park will be celebrating by hosting a rockpool ramble at Firestone Bay; not only will we be on a shark, ray & skate eggcase hunt, but we will also be exploring the abundance of wildlife that call Plymouth Sound home. From shore crabs and sea stars, to nudibranchs (sea slugs) and anemones!
Come and join the rangers in safely discovering what lives in your part of the Sound and even take part in a bit of citizen science as we go on a hunt to record specific species!
You will need appropriate clothing and footwear (we recommend walking boots or wellies) for all weather and a phone to take photos of what you find! If you have a smart phone, we recommend downloading iNaturalist app so we can record the different species we find on a national database. iNaturalist

Location: Firestone Bay beach (What3Words: ///gear.crowd.facing)
