Come and find our Plymouth Sound National Marine Park Ranger Team at the Tinside Coffee Pod for a laid-back Sea Watch.

This is a more informal way to get involved, simply stop by, grab a cuppa, and spend some time looking out over Plymouth Sound. Whether you stay for five minutes or an hour, you’ll be part of something bigger.

With views stretching across the Sound, Tinside is a brilliant spot to watch the movement of the sea. You might catch a glimpse of dolphins passing through, seabirds diving, or just enjoy the ever-changing light and activity on the water.

Our rangers will be on hand to chat, share what to look out for, and record any sightings as part of the Sea Watch Foundation’s national survey, so even a short visit can contribute to real marine science.

It’s a simple idea, good company, a hot drink (to be purchased from the Coffee Pod), and time by the sea, but it’s also a chance to connect with Plymouth’s unique marine environment in an easy, accessible way. No experience needed, no pressure to stay—just come along and enjoy it at your own pace.

Whether you’re passing by or planning to stay a while, it’s a great opportunity to meet the team, ask questions, and spend a bit of time noticing what’s happening out on the water.
