Sea-themed Orchestra December Concert
December 2 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Inspired by Plymouth Sound, the University of Plymouth Orchestra are inviting us to immerse ourselves in a mesmerising, sea-themed, musical saga.
To celebrate Plymouth unique connection to waters that surround us and the sea life it brings, each set of music will be infused with sounds of rolling waves, shifting rivers and epic nautical voyages.
Artists and songs to be experienced:
Amy Beach – The Sea Fairies
Eric Coates – Sleepy Lagoon
Antonín Dvořák – The Water Goblin
George Frideric Handel – The Water Music
Aram Khachaturian – Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia
Felix Mendelssohn – Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage
The UoP Orchestra is made up of current and former students and staff, as well as members of the Plymouth community. ‘We meet on Thursday evenings on the University Campus – new members are always welcome to join and enjoy making music with us.’ says the collective voice of UoP Orchestra.
There will be free refreshments after the concert which will also give the audience a chance to meet the musically talented group!
