How you can help
Plymouth Sound National Marine Park belongs to everyone. This remarkable stretch of sea has shaped our city’s story for generations, and now it is time to shape its future together. Join us and be part of a growing community who enjoy the water, care for it, and help it thrive for years to come.
Volunteer with us
Volunteering with the Marine Park is a hands on way to make a difference and meet like minded people. You might help run family activities on the waterfront, support events, share your local knowledge, or get stuck into practical tasks along the coast. As a volunteer, you will become part of a supportive, friendly network, pick up new skills in event delivery and communication, and grow your understanding of the incredible marine wildlife right on Plymouth’s doorstep.
Get stuck in
Our programme of events is one of the easiest ways to get involved. From Coastal Clean Ups and Shoresearch Surveys, to guided walks and talks, there is something for every age and confidence level. Whether you are rolling up your sleeves on the beach, learning to spot marine species, or simply discovering new corners of the waterfront, our events help you see Plymouth Sound with fresh eyes.
Get Salty
Stay Salty is your invite to enjoy Plymouth Sound all year round. From bracing sea swims and paddle sessions to relaxed waterfront wanders, it is all about making time for the water, whatever the weather. Join the Stay Salty community and turn the UK’s first National Marine Park into your regular blue space for feeling brighter, stronger and more connected to our remarkable sea.
