About

Join us for a special community performance celebrating the maritime heritage of the Tamar and South East Cornwall through song. Following two public workshops led by folk singer and choir leader Sian Jamison, participants will perform a collection of shanties and maritime songs inspired by the industries and traditions that shaped life around the coast.

Drawing on the intertwined histories of fishing, mining, shipbuilding and maritime trade, Fish, Tin & Copper explores the stories of the people whose livelihoods depended on the sea and the rivers that connect Cornwall and Plymouth Sound. Through music, the performance brings to life the heritage of working communities and the enduring cultural links forged through maritime activity.

Part of the Tales of the Tides: Voices of the Sea community heritage project, this free event offers an opportunity to experience local history in an engaging and accessible way while supporting the preservation and celebration of maritime traditions.

Free entry. Donations to the Church of St Nicholas & Faith are welcome. Hosted by Saltash Old Cornwall Society in partnership with Plymouth Sound National Marine Park and Kernow Goth.
