The area is home to the remains of an old manor, a mill that once powered the community, and much more. On this leisurely walk, you’ll explore the historic sites along the creek, including the mill and manor, while learning about the people who lived and worked here over the centuries.
Join the Friends of Ernesettle Creek and Budshead Wood and the PSNMP rangers as they guide you through this fascinating journey, sharing tales from the past and helping you connect with the history of this remarkable spot. Along the way, you’ll discover the significant role Ernesettle Creek played in the development of Plymouth, both in industry and community life.
After the walk, relax and chat with fellow explorers while enjoying some tea, coffee, and biscuits!
What to bring:
Comfortable clothing and footwear (we recommend walking boots or wellies for muddy paths)
A drink for the walk
Distance: Approx. 1.7 miles at a slow pace, with regular pauses to discuss the history. Note: This is a one way walk, finishing at Ernesettle Creek, Mill Pond.
Location: Meet by the Budshead Manor (Scouts Hut) car park – (bottom of Digby Way)
