On 17th December, during a blustery winter’s day, BBC News visited Tinside Lido, one of our key partners, to report on the amazing building work happening thanks to funding through the National Lottery Heritage Fund Horizon Project, Youth Investment Fund and Plymouth City Council.
This project is a big step forward for providing further accessibility to Plymouth Sound National Marine Park (PSNMP). It’s all about making the park a more welcoming, sustainable, and exciting place for everyone to enjoy.
What’s Happening at Tinside Lido?
The work at Tinside Lido is transforming the space, to improve the swimming experience but also creating new areas for other activities, events and community engagement.
A Focus on Young People
We’re especially passionate about creating places where young people can explore, learn, and have fun. By connecting them with the UK’s first National Marine Park and its amazing wildlife, we’re inspiring future generations to care for and enjoy this incredible ecosystem.
What’s Next?
The visit from BBC News highlights just how important this work is, and we’re so excited to keep sharing updates as we go. Together, with the community and our partners, we’re building a National Marine Park that’s for everyone – now and in the future.
The Plymouth Sound National Marine Park has been made possible thanks to money raised by National Lottery players through The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Plymouth City Council and the Youth Investment Fund.
